Welcome to Hills Run Club. By attending or participating in any Hills Run Club run, event, activity, or program, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms & Conditions.


1. Participation and Safety


Participation at Your Own Risk

Participation in Hills Run Club activities is voluntary and entirely at your own risk. Running and physical activity involve inherent risks, including but not limited to slips, falls, collisions, weather conditions, uneven surfaces, traffic hazards, illness, and personal injury.


Medical Fitness

You confirm that you are medically fit and physically capable of participating in our activities. If you have any medical condition, injury, or concern that may affect your ability to participate safely, you should seek appropriate medical advice before attending.


Follow Instructions

Participants must follow all reasonable directions provided by Hills Run Club organisers and volunteers to help maintain a safe environment for everyone.


Personal Responsibility

You are responsible for your own safety throughout each activity. This includes remaining aware of your surroundings, obeying all road rules, traffic signals, and pedestrian crossings, and exercising appropriate care at all times.


2. Liability


Acknowledgement of Risk

You acknowledge that participation in running activities carries inherent risks and that you voluntarily accept those risks.


Release

To the maximum extent permitted by law, you release and hold harmless Hills Run Club, its founders, organisers, volunteers, sponsors, and partners from claims arising from your participation, except where liability cannot legally be excluded under applicable Australian law.

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded under Australian consumer or other applicable laws.


Personal Insurance

Hills Run Club recommends that participants maintain appropriate personal accident, health, and income protection insurance where applicable.


3. Code of Conduct

All participants are expected to contribute to a welcoming, respectful, and inclusive community.

Participants agree to:

  • Treat fellow runners, volunteers, organisers, sponsors, and members of the public with respect.
  • Follow directions from organisers where reasonably required.
  • Refrain from harassment, bullying, discrimination, or abusive behaviour.
  • Respect public spaces and dispose of rubbish appropriately.
  • Help create a positive and supportive environment for runners of all abilities.

Hills Run Club reserves the right to refuse or revoke participation where behaviour is considered unsafe, disruptive, abusive, or inconsistent with our community values.


4. Photography and Media

By attending Hills Run Club activities, you acknowledge that photographs and video may be taken during events.

These images and recordings may be used by Hills Run Club for promotional, marketing, social media, website, and other community purposes without compensation.

If you have concerns regarding photography, please speak with an organiser before the event.


5. Weather and Event Changes

Hills Run Club may postpone, cancel, relocate, or modify any event due to weather, safety concerns, venue availability, or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control.


6. Personal Property

Participants are responsible for their own belongings. Hills Run Club accepts no responsibility for lost, stolen, or damaged personal property.


7. Intellectual Property

The Hills Run Club name, logo, branding, photographs, graphics, and other content remain the intellectual property of Hills Run Club unless otherwise stated.

No material may be reproduced or used without prior written permission.


8. Amendments

Hills Run Club may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. Updated versions will be published on our website and will take effect immediately upon publication.


9. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.
