Running groups in Castle Hill: how to find your crew

Check pace, cost and times before you choose a Castle Hill running group, and see how Hills Run Club's free Tuesday and Thursday runs answer each check.

Hills Run Club at HRC Night Run x Sydney Thunder

8 October 2026

If you are searching for a running group in Castle Hill, the right one is the one whose pace, cost and times suit your week. Hills Run Club is a free community running club in the Hills District. It runs a Tuesday night run at Castle Hill Showground every second Tuesday, under the lights, and a Thursday morning run at Glenhaven Oval every week. Walkers, joggers and runners are all welcome, and you register for each run through a free HRC+ account.

What to check before you join a running group

Most people searching for a running group in Castle Hill want a regular place to run, jog or walk with others. These six checks show quickly whether a group suits you:

  • Pace: Can you walk part or all of it, and jog when you feel like it?
  • Cost: Is there a fee, a membership or a sign-up charge?
  • Times: Does the start fit around work, study or family?
  • Meeting place: Can you get there and back without a long trip, and is there parking?
  • Distance: Can you choose a shorter or longer option on the day?
  • Sign-up: Is it clear how to register before you go?

The Tuesday night run in Castle Hill

From October, our night runs are held at Castle Hill Showground. The Tuesday Night Run happens every second Tuesday. Meet at 6:45pm for a 7:00pm start under the lights. Enter via Doran Drive, the entrance closest to the metro, take the first left and follow the road to the lit oval. The group meets at the large shed, and there is plenty of parking around it.

The Tuesday run offers 3 km or 6 km. These are options, not totals: one 3 km lap is a full run, and walkers are welcome.

The Thursday morning run

The Thursday Morning Run happens every Thursday at Glenhaven Oval, 78 Glenhaven Road, Glenhaven. Meet at 5:45am for a 6:00am start. Choose 2.5 km or 5 km, which is one or two 2.5 km laps, and stay afterwards for coffee and a sweet treat.
