Loneliness doesn’t always look like being alone. It shows up in crowded rooms, in routines that feel empty, and in moments where you realise no one really knows you. And right now, it’s the next generation feeling it the most.

Recent data shows that over one-third of deaths among Australians aged 15–24 are due to suicide, making it the leading cause of death in that age group. In 2022, 1 in 5 males and 1 in 6 females reported feeling lonely. This isn’t occasional, and it isn’t rare. It’s becoming normal.

We’re living in a time where people are more connected than ever, yet real connection feels further away. That’s what needs to change.

At Hills Run Club, we believe something simple can make a difference. Not another app or another message, but real people, in real life, moving together. We’re not here to create elite runners, we’re here to bring people together.

We create a space where showing up is enough, where conversations happen naturally, and where strangers become familiar, and familiar becomes community. When you run side by side with someone, walls come down. There’s no pressure to impress, no need to perform, just movement, conversation, and connection.

Whether you’re chasing a PB or just clearing your head, you’re part of something bigger the moment you step in. We don’t just run, we’re building something people can belong to, and changing what connection looks like for this generation.
